The European Union has achieved uniting the countries of Europe while still retaining the cultural variety of its people.  However, it might happen that cultures and traditions fade into oblivion over the centuries or may not be practiced due to political situations. This is what has happened to classical Chinese art.

In my function as a Chairman in the European Parliament of the delegation for the relations with the peninsula of Korea, I was entitled in the last years to be a frequent guest in Asia. Thereby, I also learned to know and admire the traditional Chinese culture.

Therefore, I am especially happy that the "Divine Performing Arts” group and its production partner New Tang Dynasty Television have made it their duty to let the traditional culture of China be revived in all its variety again.

Special thanks go to the cultural association ArsCara, which succeeded in bringing the "Shen Yun Chinese Spectacular" to Austria and to offer Austrians a very special kind of experience.

This presentation of one of the oldest cultures in the world is an excellent possibility to learn more about the authentic Chinese culture, giving the audience the possibility to enjoy and look forward to a positive future, in which dignity and values are emphasized.
